Guest Speaker: Christian Fauria
Christian Fauria is a former professional football tight end who played 13 years in the NFL. Fauria was born in Harbor City, California, and he began his career playing football at Crespi high school in Encino where he was the MVP, first team All-Del Rey League honoree, and was a first team All-CIF honoree. He went on to play college football at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he held the Big Eight Conference record for pass receptions by a tight end. He was an All-Big 8 choice, a third team AP All-American choice, and he also won the Derek Singleton Award (Most inspirational player at Colorado). Fauria went on to be drafted in the second round of the NFL draft by the Seattle Seahawks. From there, he went on to play 4 years with the New England Patriots where he helped them to win two Super Bowl championships. After playing with the Patriots, Fauria went on to play with the Washington Redskins for a season and then the Carolina Panthers for a season before retiring. Fauria finished his career with 252 receptions, 2,529 receiving yards and 22 receiving TDs. Since retiring, Christian has gone on to be an analyst for college football for CBS Sports Network, ESPN, and a Boston radio host. He now hosts the podcast "Coached 2 Win," which explores athletic leadership and the elements that contribute to a winning environment. Christian also hosted a 25-hour fundraising telethon, "Crusade for a Cure," to raise money for the American Diabetes Association, inspired by his son's diabetes diagnosis.
